Velvet Underground Kissing Lipstick (£23.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bold, brightened fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It was incredibly pigmented, and it applied and wore beautifully for a solid six and a half hours, plus it left behind a stain that lingered for a couple more hours. It was neither drying nor hydrating while worn; it seemed slightly moisturizing initially but at the four-hour mark, it just seemed neither drying nor hydrating. I added a swatch of Pillow Talk at the end for reference. I reviewed the Superstar Lips formula last year here. I had mixed feelings because of the price and size of the product. I still do for this reason, but the formula is really nice, especially if you like a glossy lip. Three new shades caught my eye in Glow Kiss, Princess Kiss and Everlasting Kiss (the first two of these are exclusive to Charlotte Tilbury’s website). After hauling all three I decided to give the shimmery ones a try in Pillow Talk Diamonds and Lucky Diamonds as well.
Whether the product looked smoothing depended on the shade as some were more flattering to wear than others. The formula had a subtle, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste. The formulas in this palette itself are much better in pigment and color payoff significantly compared to the first ones she launched. It’s still a very natural looking but I think colors are deep enough for even medium tan skin tones. It’s neutral in undertone to me making it a lot more wearable than her previous Beauty Glow Palette from 2017. Colors are soft but buildable, I think with the texture it’s easy to blend and impossible to overdo. It didn’t have as much slip as I would have thought, but this helped it sit better on my lips and have better longevity. It had rich color coverage that adhered somewhat evenly to my lips and seemed to fill in a few of my lip lines but didn’t smooth them all out.

Worth noting, the packaging used thinner plastic and was much lighter-weight (to the point of feeling a little flimsy) compared to other Charlotte Tilbury lip products. It also has a clicking, twist-up mechanism that doesn't lalow for the product to be twist back into the tube, so take care when twisting product out for use. I'm guessing that the more balm-like formula needed that type of mechanism in order not to break at the base. Overall lots to love for easy everyday kind of makeup.
I find that some of the creamier shades can sit in my lip lines a bit, but it really depends on the shade on how noticeable it is in person. The wear ranges from three to five hours (reds and the like). There's a faint, sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste. The finish was exceptionally shiny, and it did give the illusion of plumper lips.
I think every color in the Gorgeous Glowing Beauty palette is wearable and great for the more conservative beauty lover or for those who feel like they don’t know how to wear makeup. It’s truly easy to wear with easy to follow steps for a full face look and I do think it’s beautiful! At $75 it is fairly spendy, I bought mine during the Sephora Holiday bonus event for some savings. When I previewed shopping the palette in store a lot of you asked how it compares to The Dolce Vita quad (now renamed The Bella Sofia), swatches below. There are definitely similarities in two of the shades, I find the individual quad has more color payoff on the eyes.
The shades tended to have mostly opaque to opaque color coverage rather than "medium coverage." Charlotte Tilbury Crystal Happikiss Hyaluronic Happikiss Colour Balm ($34.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a light-medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and a high-shine, glossy finish. It had sheer coverage–and this one shade was described as sheer, hurrah! –with a moderately dense, thicker consistency that had good adhesion to my lips. Despite looking incredibly wet-looking on, it didn’t slide around and hugged my lips comfortably.
It's very wet and never drys so its messy and bleeds on me. As an example, one rating criteria for lipsticks is luster. Matte might be a desired quality for you, while glossy might be desired for someone else. Without the need for long-form written text, everyone saves time. I just got Crystal HappiKiss, I thought the other colours looked too pigmented for a balm type product. The Tarte Maricuja Juicy Lip is an exact dupe for this very shiny thick balm. I can’t remember what they cost, but the are deffo cheaper. The have loads more colours, and all of them are sheer.
Overall I’m happy with the way all of them look except for Pillow Talk Diamonds. They are very sheer and I find their online stock photos and model photos very misleading. I find they look a lot more pigmented and opaque online than they do in real life – even with heavy lip layering. For the price I’d expect a lot more product at the very least. As much as I like the colors I think the deeper and brighter options I bought last year make for a better buy.
